About Me

I’m a UX researcher with 18+ years in healthcare, on a mission to improve the digital experiences of patients and clinicians. After working as a physical therapist and clinic manager, I transitioned into UX to tackle the system-level problems I used to see every day.

Today, I blend qualitative research, data analysis, and human-centered design to drive meaningful innovation in digital health. Whether I’m leading usability testing, setting up a research ops department, or co-creating with product teams, I focus on one thing: understanding people deeply to design for what truly matters.

I bring clinical insight, strategic thinking, and research rigor to every challenge—and I’m always looking to connect with teams building the future of healthcare.

My Philosophy

My responsibility as a designer is to ensure products are accessible, intuitive and pleasurable, my goal is to  enhance the user experience rather than complicate it. I am passionate about equity in healthcare and discovering ways that technology can assist in the pursuit of that.

What makes people passionate, pure and simple, is great experiences. If they have great experience with your product [and] they have great experiences with your service, they’re going to be passionate about your brand, they’re going to be committed to it. That’s how you build that kind of commitment.
— Jesse James Garrett, Author The Elements of User Experience: User-Centered Design for the Web

The journey so far…

My passion for User Experience grew out of my experience as a healthcare provider navigating various software programs that were rarely compatible with each other. The programs required extensive training and were prone to error, making them frustrating for both  patients and providers. I have always been interested in improving the technology we use; I think technology should make tasks easier and the navigation should feel seamless.

My background as a healthcare provider prepared me for the transition to User Experience. There are so many similarities between my role as a physical therapist and my experience as a UX professional. Defining the problem, empathizing with the perspective of the users, determining the best way to address user needs, analyzing data to confirm research findings, and assessing the best way to solve the user’s problem are principals I have always used in my work.

As a therapist, I created unique rehab experiences for each patient. I used problem solving skills daily to produce treatment programs that would enhance their functional mobility. As a user experience professional, I have continued to create unique experiences, problem solve and address user needs to enhance their interactions and satisfaction with the products they use.

What I do when I'm not working

I see myself as a lifelong learner, and I am always looking for new ways to express myself creatively, enhance my knowledge base and help others to do the same.  Outside of research and design I’m also a wife and a mom to a little boy, a little girl and 2 adorable cats. I love cooking, drawing, traveling, and creating memories with my family and friends.
